WINNERS of a children’s talent contest took a bow at the event’s grand finale and awards ceremony last night.More than 1,000 guests attended the event,which was organised by the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS),The annual Devji BKS Balakalotsavam took place over May and June and saw more than 450 children participate in 103 individual events.
These included performing arts, writing, recitation,painting, drawing, intelligence tests and team events conducted over 75 days. Another 350 children also competed in seventeam events.
It was the first time in the event’s 35-year history that saw participation from non-BKS members.The grand finale showcased performances by individual and team champions in addition to the awards ceremony. Chief guest was Indian Ambassador Dr George Joseph, while award-winning film and stage actor Padmashree Thilakan was the celebrity guest and title sponsor Devji Group managing director Prakash Devji guest of honour
