Back On Stage After 50 Years

Manama Aswamedham, a drama staged back in 1962 at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) will be performed again, tomorrow at 7.30pm and on Friday at 4pm at BKS Diamond Jubilee Hall, Segaiya. The performance of the prolific Malayalam drama on its 50th anniversary is expected evoke nostalgic memories among the elder generation of the BKS members who have lived in Bahrain. Renowned film actress KPAC Lalitha, the heroine when it was staged 50 years back, will be specially flown in from Kerala for felicitating this gracious event and witness the presentation. Director Mohan Raj is directing this full-length drama along with some of the best artistes in Bahrain. The social drama enlightens the community about the new inventions of modern medicine and removes superstitions about curing diseases. In anticipation of a successful event, BKS has made all the arrangement for witnessing this historic drama for the entire community on two days which are expecting a crowd of 4,000. The play is reserved on Thursday for the BKS members and invited guests and on Friday it is open to all. An interactive session with Mrs. Lalitha will also be conducted on Friday at 10am at the BKS.
