Thomas, Ramya win titles at BKS cultural festival­

The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) Melam Keralotsavam 2010-11 concluded last evening with the vibrant and highly energised group cinematic dance competition. PT Thomas and Ramya Parmod have been declared the Kalapathi and Kalashri respectively. Kaveri was declared to be the group champions.Keralotsavam is the cultural and literary competitions organised by the BKS for its members and associate members. Held over the past one month, it saw competitions in both individual and group performances. The Kalapathi and Kalashri titles are given to the male and female member who scores maximum points in the individual events.Mr. Thomas scored a total of 35 points by winning first position in Kadhaprasangam, second in Instrumental Music and Malayalam Poem Writing, an A grade for English Essay Writing and a B grade for Poem Recitation and Malayalam Essay Writing.Ms. Pramod came victorious with 40 points after winning the film song and poem recitation competition, second for Mapillappattu, Third for light music, A grade for Kadhaprasangam and a C grade for mono act.Team Kaveri, led by Janardhanan was placed first followed by Team Souparnika, which was captained by Manoharan Pavaratty. Group events included Oppana, Thiruvathirakkali, group dance, group song, mime and cinematic dance.
