A business icon from Oman was felicitated last night, by the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) in Segaiya.
A reception was accorded to Sobha Group of Companies Chairman P N C Menon at the BKS Diamond Jubilee Hall.
Mr. Menon is ranked 754th on the Forbes 2007 list of billionaires and had won many awards including the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Puraskar from the Indian President in 2009.
He was also nominated to the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council of Overseas Indians.
Apart from Sobha Group, which is one of the largest companies in Oman’s construction industry and Sobha Developers in India, worth more than $1.25 billion, Mr Menon also has varied business interests in Oman, UAE, Qatar and India.
The evening also witnessed a classical dance recital by leading Mohiniyattam exponent Gopika Varma, from the celebrated Travancore royal family, in the Indian state of Kerala. Ms Varma is a winner of numerous accolades including the Outstanding Performance Award by the House of Commons, London in 2003.
