MADHU and Satheesh emerged victorious in the top group Flight I in VIII'th Syed Modi Monthly Badminton Tournament for Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam members.
The tournament was conducted in five categories, based on the skill level of the players.
In Flight I final, Madhu and Satheesh defeated Jayakumar and Nahas 21-16, 21-16.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Madhu and Satheesh beat Unni and Anto 21-18, 21-15 while Jayakumar and Nahas edged past Jain and Subash 21-15, 22-20.
In other groups, the winners were Anil O M and Arun in Flight II, Manoj and Shaju took Flight III trophy, Biju C Alex and Rajasekhar won Flight IV while Ben and Nadheem came on top in flight V.
Anil O M teamd up with Arun to beat the tandem of Reji and Ashok 21-12, 21-14 and win Flight II trophy.
Victorious
The winning pair made it to the final defeating Rajesh and playing partner Priyan 21-15 21-14, while Reji Ashok edged Sunil S and Sunil Warrier 21-19, 21-18 in the semi-finals.
In Flight III, Manoj and Shaju posted a 21-19, 21-14 victory over Rajesh and Ajay to lift the title.
The semi-finals saw Manoj and Shaju beat Shanil and Sanal 21-16, 25-23 to set up their final clash with Rajesh and Ajay, who beat Shibu and Sreekumar 21-16, 23-25, 21-15 in a three-set thriller.
Trophies for the winners and runners-up were presented by BKS President P V Radhakrishna Pillai at the awarding ceremony.
It was also attended by BKS general secretary Varghese Karakkal, vice-president Abdul Rahman, Tony Kuriakose and Indoor Games secretary Anil Kumar O M.
