ബഹ്റൈന് കേരളീയ സമാജം ചിത്രകലാ ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം
ബഹ്റൈന് കേരളീയ സമാജം സാഹിത്യ വിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തില് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്ന ചിത്രകലാ ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ ഈ വര്ഷത്തെ പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങളുടെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം സാംസ്കാരിക പ്രവര്ത്തകനും, നാട്യഗ്രഹത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാപകനുമായ പി.വി. ശിവന് നിര്വഹിച്ചു. സമാജം പ്രസിഡന്റ് പി.വി. രാധാകൃഷ്ണപിള്ള അധ്യക്ഷനായിരുന്നു. സമാജം ആക്ടിങ് ജനറല് സെക്രട്ടറി കെ.എസ്. സജുകുമാര് ചിത്രപ്രദര്ശനത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിര്വഹിച്ചു. 30ലധികം ചിത്രകാരന്മാര് വരച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ പ്രദര്ശനവും, പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തലും നടന്നു. ബഹ്റൈനിലെ ശ്രദ്ധേയരായ ചിത്രകാരന്മാരുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങള് പ്രദര്ശിപ്പിക്കുവാന് വേണ്ടി പ്രതിമാസ ആര്ട്സ് ഗ്യാലറി എന്ന ആശയത്തിനു രൂപം നല്കുമെന്ന് പി.വി. രാധാക്യഷ്ണപിള്ളയും, കെ.എസ്. സജുകുമാറും അറിയിച്ചു. സാഹിത്യ വിഭാഗം സെക്രട്ടറി ബിനോജ് മാത്യു, കണ്വീനര് ഹരീഷ് മേനോന്, കലാവിഭാഗം സെക്രട്ടറി മനോഹരന് പാവറട്ടി എന്നിവര് പ്രസംഗിച്ചു

സമാജം വനിതാവേദിയുടെ പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങള് നടി കല്പന ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യും.
സമാജം വനിതാവേദിയുടെ പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങള് ഈ മാസം 30ന് വൈകീട്ട് 7.30ന് നടി കല്പന ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യും. നടി കലാരഞ്ജിനി മുഖ്യാതിഥിയായിരിക്കും. പി.വി രാധാകൃഷ്ണപിള്ള അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിക്കും. വനിതാവിഭാഗം കണ്വീനര് ബിജി ശിവകുമാര്, ആക്റ്റിങ് ജനറല് സെക്രട്ടറി കെ.എസ് സജുകുമാര്, കലാവിഭാഗം സെക്രട്ടറി മനോഹരന് പാവറട്ടി, ജയ രവികുമാര് എന്നിവര് സംസാരിക്കും.
രവിവര്മ ചിത്രങ്ങളെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ള നിശ്ചലദൃശ്യം, കലാവിഭാഗം അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന നൃത്തം, ദിനേശ് കുറ്റിയില് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന 'പെണ്ണമ്മ' നാടകം എന്നീ പരിപാടികളുണ്ട്.
ജൂലൈ ഒന്നിന് രാവിലെ 10.30ന് ഫിലിം ക്ലബ് ഉദ്ഘാടനം കല്പന നിര്വഹിക്കും. തുടര്ന്ന് കല്പനയും കലാരഞ്ജിനിയുമായി അഭിമുഖം.
ബിജി ശിവകുമാര് കണ്വീനറായ 12 അംഗ കമ്മിറ്റിയാണ് വനിതാവിഭാഗത്തിന് ഈ വര്ഷം നേതൃത്വം വഹിക്കുന്നത്. ജൂലൈ എട്ടിന് സല്മാനിയ ആശുപത്രിയില് രക്തദാനക്യാമ്പ്, അവധിക്കാലത്ത് എയറോബിക്സ് ക്ലാസ്, കൗണ്സലിംഗ് പരിശീലന ക്ലാസുകള്, പാചകമല്സരം എന്നിവ ഈ വര്ഷം നടത്തുമെന്ന് ബിജി പറഞ്ഞു. എഴുത്തുകാരികള്ക്കായി ഒരു ക്യാമ്പ് ആലോിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് രാധാകൃഷ്ണപിള്ള പറഞ്ഞു.

ബഹറിന് കേരളീയ സമാജം ചിത്രകലാ ക്ലബിന്റെ ഈ വര്ഷത്തെ ഉത്ഘാടനത്തേടനുബന്ധിച്ച് ഇന്ന് വൈകിട്ട് ആറു മണി മുടല് രാത്രി പത്ത് വരെ ബഹറിനിലെ 30ഓളം കലാകാരന് മാരുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങളും ശില്പ്പങ്ങളും കലകൗശലവസ്തുക്കളും പ്രദര്ശിപ്പിക്കും. തല്സമയ കാരിക്കേചെര് രചനയും സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്.പ്രവേശനം സൗജന്യമാണ്.

ഗൗരവമുള്ള നിരൂപണങ്ങളില്ലാത്തത് വായനയുടെ പ്രതിസന്ധി: ബെന്യാമിന്
ഗൗരവകരമായ പുസ്തക നിരൂപണങ്ങളില്ലാതാകുന്നതാണ് ഇന്ന് വായന നേരിടുന്ന ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വെല്ലുവിളിയെന്ന് ബെന്യാമിന്. വായിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ട പുസ്തകങ്ങളെ വായനക്കാര്ക്ക് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തിയിരുന്ന നരേന്ദ്രപ്രസാദിനെപ്പോലുള്ള നിരൂപകരുടെ അഭാവം ഇന്ന് പ്രകടമാണ്. വായനക്കാരുടെ അഭിരുചിക്കനുസരിച്ച് പുസ്തകങ്ങള് വായനക്കാരിലെത്തുന്നില്ലെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. കേരളീയ സമാജം സാഹിത്യവേദിയുടെ ഈ വര്ഷത്തെ പ്രവര്ത്തനവും വായനാദിനാചരണവും ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്ത് സംസാരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.
പുതിയ പുസ്തകങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടാകാത്തതല്ല, അവയെ വേണ്ടവിധം പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുന്നില്ല എന്നതാണ് ഇതിനുകാരണം. ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തില് സാഹിത്യവേദികള് ഗൗരവകരമായ വായനയെയും പുസ്തകങ്ങളെയും എഴുത്തുകാരെയും പരിചയപ്പെടുത്താന് മുന്കൈയെടുക്കണം. വായനക്കാരുടെ അഭിരുചിക്കനുസരിച്ച രചനയായതുകൊണ്ടുകൂടിയാണ് 'ആടുജീവിതം' ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടതെന്ന് ബെന്യാമിന് കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ത്തു.
'ബെന്യാമിന്' എന്ന എഴുത്തുകാരനെ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതില് കേരളീയ സമാജവും സാഹിത്യവേദിയും വലിയ പങ്കാണ് വഹിച്ചതെന്ന് താന് അഭിമാനത്തോടെ പറയാന് ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. വിവര സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയില് വായനക്ക് ഒരുപാട് സാധ്യതകള് നല്കുന്നുണ്ട്. പക്ഷേ, സമീപകാലത്ത് വായന തിരശ്ചീനമായാണ് വളരുന്നത്. അത് നല്ല സൂചനയല്ല. ആഴത്തിലുള്ള വായനയാണ് പ്രോല്സാഹിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
ജി.സി.സി തല സാഹിത്യക്യാമ്പ് അടക്കം ഗള്ഫ് മേഖലയിലാകെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടുംവിധമായിരുന്നു സമാജം സാഹിത്യവേദിയുടെ കഴിഞ്ഞവര്ഷത്തെ പ്രവര്ത്തനമെന്ന് സമാജം പ്രസിഡന്റ് പി.വി രാധാകൃഷ്ണപിള്ള പറഞ്ഞു. വിപുലമായ പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങളാണ് ഈ വര്ഷവും നടക്കുക. ഗള്ഫ് മേഖലാതല കവിതാ ക്യാമ്പ്, സംവാദങ്ങള്, സാഹിത്യമല്സരങ്ങള്, അക്കാദമികളുമായി ചേര്ന്ന് ശില്പശാലകള് എന്നിവ ഈ വര്ഷവും നടത്തും. ആക്റ്റിംഗ് സെക്രട്ടറി കെ.എസ് സജുകുമാര് സംസാരിച്ചു.
'വായനയും ഇ- വായനയും എന്ന വിഷയത്തില് നടന്ന സംവാദത്തില് സുധി പുത്തന്വേലിക്കര വായന എന്ന വിഷയം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. ഗൗരവമായ വായനയുടെ അഭാവവും അതുവഴി നാം സ്വായത്തമാക്കുന്ന മൂല്യങ്ങളുടെ അഭാവവും സമൂഹത്തെ ഗുരുതരമായി ബാധിച്ചതായി സമകാലിക വാര്ത്തകളില് നിന്ന് വായിച്ചെടുക്കാമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. പുസ്തകങ്ങള് നല്കുന്ന അടുപ്പം, ഏകാഗ്രത എന്നിവ തന്നെയാണ് പുതിയ ലോകത്തും പുസ്തകങ്ങള്ക്ക് പ്രിയമേറാന് കാരണം.
കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറുകളില് നിന്നും ഇന്റര്നെറ്റില് നിന്നും വായന ടാബ്ലെറ്റുകളിലേക്കും കീശയിലൊതുക്കാവുന്ന മൊബൈല് ഉപകരണങ്ങളിലേക്കും മാറുകയാണെന്ന് സജി മാര്ക്കോസ് പറഞ്ഞു. ചിത്രങ്ങള്, വീഡിയോ, ഭൂപടം തുടങ്ങി നൂതന സങ്കേതങ്ങള് ഉപയോഗിച്ചുള്ള ഇ വായന പുതിയ തലം തന്നെ പുസ്തകങ്ങള്ക്ക്എ നല്കും. എന്നാല്, സര്ഗാത്മക രചനകള് ഇ വായനയില് ലഭ്യമാകാനുള്ള ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ കാലതാമസം ക്രമേണ മാറുമെന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതായി അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
പഴയ വായനയില് നിന്ന് പുതിയ വായനയിലേക്കുള്ള കാലം വളരെ ചുരുങ്ങിയതാണെന്ന് ബെന്യാമിന് പറഞ്ഞു. ഇ വായനയിലേക്ക് കാലെടുത്തുവക്കാന് നമ്മുടെ ചിരപരിചിത വായനാശീലങ്ങള് ചെറിയ തടസം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുമെങ്കിലും അത് വളരെ എളുപ്പം മറികടക്കാന് കഴിയും. ബ്ലോഗുകളുടെ നിലവാരത്തില് വന്ന കുറവിനെ സംവാദത്തില് പങ്കെടുത്തവര് എടുത്തുപറഞ്ഞു. അതേസമയം, അവഗണിക്കാനാകാത്ത വിധം ബ്ലോഗുകളും ഓണ്ലൈന് മാധ്യമങ്ങളും വളരുകയാണെന്നും അഭിപ്രായമുയര്ന്നു.

കേരളീയ സമാജം ഫോട്ടോഗ്രഫി ക്ലബ്ബ് ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു
ബഹ്റൈന് കേരളീയ സമാജം ഫോട്ടോഗ്രഫി ക്ലബ്ബ് പ്രവര്ത്തമാരംഭിച്ചു. സമാജം പ്രസിഡന്റ് പി.വി. രാധാകൃഷ്ണപിള്ള ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. വിദഗ്ധരെ ഉള്പ്പെടുത്തി ക്ലാസുകള്, ബഹ്റൈന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്കു പഠന യാത്രകള്, ചര്ച്ചകള്, പരിശീലന കളരികള് തുടങ്ങിയവ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കും. മുഖ്യാതിഥിയായിരുന്ന മേക്കപ്പ് വിദഗ്ധന് ജിജീഷ് ഫൊട്ടോഗ്രഫിയില് ചമയത്തിനുള്ള സാധ്യതകള്, വിവിധ നൂതന സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യകള് എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ചു ക്ലാസെടുത്തു. സമാജം അംഗങ്ങളല്ലാത്തവര്ക്കും ക്ലബ്ബില് അംഗത്വമെടുക്കാം. സമാജം കലാവിഭാഗം സെക്രട്ടറി മനോഹരന് പാവറട്ടി, കണ്വീനര് സജി ആന്റണി എന്നിവര് പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.

summer camp 2011
A variety of intellectual, cultural, artistic, literary and physical activities have been lined up as part of the upcoming Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam Summer Camp 2011
The campers will be experienced with the world of theatre arts by the presence of Pulickal Rajagopal Jijoy who is bought specially to Bahrain during the camp. Jijoy is a film, serial, mime artist and a singer and a worldwide shakespearen performer who is a gold medallist in the master of arts and master of philosophy in Drama and Theatre Arts.
Voluntary teachers, child experts and caretakers will be gathered to watch over and entertain the campers.
The camp aims to provide the children with knowledge and fun to enjoy and at the same time to discover their potentials at the safest environment they could get.
100 campers will be accepted from the age of 4 to 18 with first come first preferences. The registration fee excluding transport charges for members would be BD 35 per child and for non members would be BD 40.

ബഹ്റൈന് കേരളീയ സമാജത്തിന് പുതിയ ഭരണസമിതി സ്ഥാനമേറ്റു. സ്ഥാനാരോഹണവും ബാലകലോത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഉദ്ഘാടനവും ഇന്ത്യന് സ്ഥാനപതി മോഹന് കുമാര് നിര്വഹിച്ചു.. സിബിഎസ്ഇ 12 ആം ക്ലാസ് പരീക്ഷയില് മികച്ച വിജയം നേടിയ കുട്ടികളെ ആദരിച്ചു. സ്റ്റാര് സിംഗര് ഗായകരായ അരുണ് ഗോപന്, പ്രീതി വാര്യര് എന്നിവര് നയിച്ച ഗാനമേളയും മറ്റ് കലാപരിപാടികളുമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

Jayakumar-Anto pair capture BKS badminton title
JAYAKUMAR and Anto emerged Group Red champions of the II'nd Syed Modi Monthly Badminton Tournament, organised by the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS).
The winning pair defeated Jain and his playing partner Unnikrishna Pillai 21-12, 21-16 in the top category's final match in this two-day event, held at BKS grounds and sponsored by Optima Home Appliances.
Earlier in their semi-final match, Jayakumar and Anto booked their berth in the final after beating Salesh C and Simin Sasi 21-17, 21-13.
Jain then teamed up with Unnikrishna Pillai to outplay the tandem of Diase and Anoop N 21-13, 21-15 and set up the title decider.
The tournament was conducted in four different categories, based on the skill level of the players.
In other groups, the winners were Rajesh A C and Thulaseedharan Pillai in Group Green, Rajesh Pillai and Sunder in Group Yellow as well as Shaji and Shibu in Group Blue.
Trophies for the winners and runners-up were presented by the President of the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam P V Radhakrishan Pillai and BKS' general secretary Varghese Karakkal, Indoor Games secretary Anil Kumar at the awarding ceremony held right after the final.
OM Entertainment secretary Manoharan Pavaratty, Literary Wing secretary Binoj Mathew, Membership secretary Mohanaprasad and Optima representative Babu Vadakkan also attended the event.
The trophies and cash prize for Card 56 tournament winners held at BKS last month were also presented on this occasion.
BKS, in association with Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation, conducted an umpire course last month as certificates for the National Qualified Badminton Umpires were also presented at the same function.

BKS induction ceremony held
Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) yesterday organised an induction ceremony for the Executive Committee 2011-2012.
Youth festival BKS Devji Balaklotsavam was also launched during the event, and young member's academic and extra curricular achievements were awarded.
Indian Ambassador Mohan Kumar was the chief guest and the representative from Devji Balaklotsavam Jaya Mohan was the guest of honour.
“I am extremely happy that PV Radhakrishna Pillai has been re-elected as the president of the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam. He has worked relentlessly for the betterment of the Indian community in Bahrain, over the last few years,” Mr Kumar said. He acknowledged BKS as an Indian cultural centre.
During his address, the ambassador told guests that the Bahraini leadership had told him on numerous occasions that they were proud of the Indian community in Bahrain. He added that the leadership also lauded the community’s contribution to the progress and development of the Kingdom.
Mr Kumar said he was proud of the achievements of the Indian community and hailed the strong relationship between Bahrain and India.
He urged everyone to redouble efforts to rebuild Bahrain.
Dr Ravi Pillai, who was also to be the guest of honour could not attend the prestigious event. However, he sent a congratulatory message to the newly inducted committee and wished all participants of Balakalotsavam the very best.
In his presidential address, Mr Pillai thanked everyone for re-electing him and his team as the Executive Committee for this year.
He commended the efforts of the previous executive committee in organising activities to promote and develop the socio-cultural and literary talents of the members and pledged that the current committee would continue on that path.
General Secretary Varghese Karakkal welcomed the gathering and Vice President Abdulrahman K delivered vote of thanks.
The high achievers of grade XII CBSE examinations Anu Balachandran, Shruthi Pillai and Reema Roy were felicitated. Vishnu G Renjith was also
felicitated for becoming a semi finalist in an Indian Reality Show Super Dancer Junior, which was aired on Malayalam channel Amrita TV.
More than 1,000 guests attended the event, which also saw a musical concert by Idea Star singers Arun Gopan and Preethi Warrier.
Reality stars add glamour to BKS event
MORE than 1,500 people attended performances by two popular Indian singers who took the stage at the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS), Segaiya, last night.
Arun Gopan and Preeti Warrier, who both competed in the Idea Star Singer reality TV show, performed on the sidelines of an induction ceremony for the BKS' new executive committee.
Mr Gopan won the talent contest in 2007 and went on to work with Indian music directors including M S Viswanathan, Jessie and Rajamani, and perform in Dubai and Bahrain.
Mumbai-based Ms Warrier, was named one of the contest's most popular singers and has performances in Bahrain and other countries under her belt.
Both vocalists presented songs in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.
A 'Vasantham' performance by 16 young traditional dancers was also staged as part of the ceremony's entertainment programme.
The event also marked the launch of this year's BKS Devji Balakalotsavam children's festival that will continue throughout this month.
Meanwhile, BKS members' children who achieved exceptionally high marks at this year's Central Board of Secondary Education Grade 10 and 12 exams were honoured.
The samajam also honoured the son of member Ranjith Podikkaran, Vishnu, who reached the semi-finals of Amritha TV's Super Dancer reality show that took place in India.
Indian Ambassador Mohan Kumar was the event's chief guest.
