നാടന്‍ കലാമേള ' ഗോത്രായനം' -വിളംബരജാഥ

ബഹ്റൈന്‍ കേരളീയ സമാജവും കേരള ഫോക്ലോര്‍ അക്കാദമിയും ചേര്‍ന്നു 10 മുതല്‍ 12 വരെ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ‘ഗോത്രായനം” നാടന്‍ കലാമേളയുടെ പ്രചരണാര്‍ഥം ലേബര്‍ക്യാംപുകളില്‍ നടത്തുന്ന വിളംബര ജാഥ ശ്രദ്ധേയമാകുന്നു. സ്ത്രീകളും കുട്ടികളും അടക്കം അറുപതോളം കലാകാരന്മാരാണ് നാടന്‍പാട്ടുകളും നാടകവും കവിതകളും ഗാനങ്ങളും മാജിക്ഷോയും നടത്തുന്നത്. വിവിധ ക്യാംപുകളില്‍ അടുത്ത വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചയും പരിപാടികള്‍ അവതരിപ്പിക്കും. തനതു കലാരൂപങ്ങള്‍ ബഹ്റൈനിലെ മലയാളികള്‍ക്കു പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുകയെന്ന ഉദ്ദേശ്യത്തിലാണ് നാടന്‍ കലാമേള സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതെന്നു സംഘാംഗങ്ങള്‍ അറിയിച്ചു.

മൂന്നു ദിവസം നീളുന്ന കലാമേളയില്‍ തെയ്യം, പടയണി, പുള്ളുവന്‍പാട്ട്, കളമെഴുത്ത്, നാടന്‍പാട്ട് തുടങ്ങിയ കലാപരിപാടികള്‍ അവതരിപ്പിക്കും. സമാജം ഭരണസമിതി അംഗങ്ങളായ എന്‍.കെ. വീരമണി, എ.കണ്ണന്‍, സജുകുമാര്‍, അബ്ദുല്‍ റഹ്മാന്‍, ബിജു എം.സതീഷ്, സജു കുടശ്ശനാട്, ടി.ജെ. ഗിരീഷ് കുമാര്‍, ജയന്‍ എസ്.നായര്‍, ബിനോജ്, ഹരീഷ് മേനോന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവരാണ് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കുന്നത്.

Thomas, Ramya win titles at BKS cultural festival­

The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) Melam Keralotsavam 2010-11 concluded last evening with the vibrant and highly energised group cinematic dance competition. PT Thomas and Ramya Parmod have been declared the Kalapathi and Kalashri respectively. Kaveri was declared to be the group champions.Keralotsavam is the cultural and literary competitions organised by the BKS for its members and associate members. Held over the past one month, it saw competitions in both individual and group performances. The Kalapathi and Kalashri titles are given to the male and female member who scores maximum points in the individual events.Mr. Thomas scored a total of 35 points by winning first position in Kadhaprasangam, second in Instrumental Music and Malayalam Poem Writing, an A grade for English Essay Writing and a B grade for Poem Recitation and Malayalam Essay Writing.Ms. Pramod came victorious with 40 points after winning the film song and poem recitation competition, second for Mapillappattu, Third for light music, A grade for Kadhaprasangam and a C grade for mono act.Team Kaveri, led by Janardhanan was placed first followed by Team Souparnika, which was captained by Manoharan Pavaratty. Group events included Oppana, Thiruvathirakkali, group dance, group song, mime and cinematic dance.

BKS releases logo for folklore extravaganza

Popular film star from Kerala, Bindhu Ramakrishnan launched the logo of the three-day folklore festival Gotraayanam, being organised by Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS), beginning on February 10. Kerala's Education and Cultural Affairs Minister M.A. Baby will be the chief guest for the three-day function.The title for the festival Gotraayanam, suggested by Manu Kurambala, was selected from more than 50 entries. Binu Veliyil designed the winning logo.The festival, the first of its kind in Bahrain, is aimed at inculcating the elegance and uniqueness of the ancient art forms of Kerala, such as Padayani, Theyyam, Pulluvan Pattu, Kalamezhuthu, Nadanpattu among the younger generation.These art forms will be performed by 15 expert artistes from Kerala. Discussions regarding these art forms will also be organised during the three days.Pulluvan Pattu, Nadan Pattu and Kalamezhuthu are the ancient Dravidian forms of worshipping God. It is believed that Theyyam envisage the god’s visits to the common man to resolve his problems in day-to-day life.Padayani is believed to be part of the celebrations on the birthday of Bhadrakali, the powerful Hindu Goddess.Art lovers of Bahrain are invited for the festival, which promises to be an opportunity to witness these unique cultural art forms. 'ഗോത്രായനം' ലോഗോ പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തു

കേരളീയ സമാജം കേരള ഫോക്‌ലോര്‍ അക്കാദമിയുടെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ ഫെബ്രുവരി രണ്ടാം വാരം നടത്തുന്ന നാടന്‍കലാമേളയുടെ ലോഗോ നടി ബിന്ദു രാമകൃഷ്ണന്‍ പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തു. ബിനു വേലിയിലാണ് ലോഗോ രൂപകല്‍പന ചെയ്തത്. മനു കൂരമ്പാല നിര്‍ദേശിച്ച 'ഗോത്രായനം' എന്ന പേരാണ് കലാമേളക്ക് തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തത്.
മൂന്നുദിവസം നീളുന്ന കലാമേളയില്‍ കേരളത്തിലെ 15ഓളം നാടന്‍ കലാകാരന്മാരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ ഗോത്ര- പാരമ്പര്യ കലകള്‍ പുനരാവിഷ്‌കരിക്കും. കേരളീയ അനുഷ്ഠാന കലകളുടെ ചരിത്രവും പാശ്ചാത്തലവും വിവരിക്കുന്ന വൈജ്ഞാനിക പരിപാടികളും അവയുടെ ആവിഷ്‌കാരങ്ങളും കലാമേളയുടെ ഭാഗമായി നടക്കും. തെയ്യം, പുള്ളുവന്‍പാട്ട്, പടയണി, കളമെഴുത്ത്, നാടന്‍പാട്ട് തുടങ്ങിയ കലാരൂപങ്ങളാണ് അരങ്ങേറുക. ബഹ്‌റൈനില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള കലാകാരന്മാരും പങ്കെടുക്കും.

Folklore Fiesta to begin on February 10

The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS), in association with Kerala Folklore Academy, will conduct a three-day Folklore Fiesta from February 10.As part of the programme, BKS is organising a contest for the title and logo for the Folklore Fiesta. കേരളീയ സമാജം നാടന്‍ കലാമേള മന്ത്രി ബേബി ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യും

കേരള ഫോക്‌ലോര്‍ അക്കാദമിയുടെ സഹകരണത്തോടെ കേരളീയ സമാജം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന നാടന്‍ കലാമേള മന്ത്രി എം.എ ബേബി ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്യും. ഫെബ്രുവരി 10 മുതല്‍ മൂന്നുദിവസം നീളുന്ന പരിപാടി തെയ്യം, പടയണി, പുള്ളുവന്‍ പാട്ട്, കളമെഴുത്ത്, നാടന്‍പാട്ട് തുടങ്ങിയ പരമ്പരാഗത അനുഷ്ഠാനകലകള്‍ക്ക് പ്രാമുഖ്യം നല്‍കിയാണ് സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. കേരളത്തില്‍ നിന്നെത്തുന്ന 15ഓളം അനുഷ്ഠാനകലാകാരന്മാരും നാടന്‍കലയിലെ പ്രമുഖരും കലാമേളക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കും.
കേരളത്തിലെ അക്കാദമികളുമായി സഹകരിച്ച് കേരളീയ സമാജം നടത്തുന്ന കലാപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമായുള്ള നാടന്‍ കലാമേള സംസ്ഥാന സാംസ്‌കാരിക വകുപ്പിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലാണ് നടത്തുന്നത്. വിസ്മൃതിയിലാകുന്ന അനുഷ്ഠാന- പാരമ്പര്യ കലകളെ പ്രവാസി തലമുറക്ക് പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുകയും സംസ്‌കാരത്തെയും പൈതൃകത്തെയും കുറിച്ച് ഓര്‍മിപ്പിക്കുകയുമാണ് ലക്ഷ്യമെന്ന് സമാജം പ്രസിഡന്റ് പി.വി രാധാകൃഷ്ണപിള്ളയും സെക്രട്ടറി എന്‍.കെ വീരമണിയും കണ്‍വീനര്‍ ബിനോജ് മാത്യുവും അറിയിച്ചു.
വടക്കേ മലബാറില്‍ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകള്‍ പഴക്കമുള്ള തെയ്യം വൈവിധ്യങ്ങളാലും കലാപരമായ സൗന്ദര്യത്താലും ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്. മധ്യതിരുവിതാകൂറിലെ ഭദ്രകാളിക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കലാരൂപമാണ് പടയണി. കളമെഴുത്ത് പ്രാചീന ദ്രാവിഡ കലയായാണ് കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്.
പ്രവാസലോകത്ത് ആദ്യമായാണ് ഇത്തരമൊരു വിപുലമായ നാടന്‍ കലാമേള സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് സംഘാടകര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ഈ കലകളില്‍ പാരമ്പര്യരീതിയില്‍ പരിശീലനം ലഭിച്ച പ്രവാസികള്‍ക്കും പങ്കെടുക്കാം. താല്‍പര്യമുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് ബിനോജ് മാത്യു (36665376), ഹരീഷ് മേനോന്‍ (39897812) എന്നിവരുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെടാം.

ആവേശം വിതറി കേരളോത്സവം

സമാജം കേരളോത്സവം ഏഴുനാള്‍ പിന്നിട്ടതോടെ മത്സരങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് കൂടുതല്‍ വീറും വാശിയും. ആവേശകരമായ മത്സരങ്ങളിലൂടെയും കൂട്ടായ്മയിലൂടെയും സാംസ്‌കാരിക കേരളത്തിന്റെ പരിച്ഛേദമായി മാറുകയാണ് അഞ്ചുവര്‍ഷത്തിനുശേഷം വീണ്ടുമെത്തിയ കേരളോത്സവം. സമാജം അംഗങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അടുത്തറിയാന്‍ കേരളോത്സവം വഴിയൊരുക്കുന്നു.
സമാജം അംഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കും കുടുംബങ്ങള്‍ക്കുമായാണ് കേരളോത്സവം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. അംഗങ്ങളെ സരയു, കാവേരി, നിള, സൗപര്‍ണിക, ഗംഗ എന്നിങ്ങളെ അഞ്ചു ഗ്രൂപ്പുകളിലായി തിരിച്ചാണ് മത്സരം. ക്യാപ്ടനും നാല് വൈസ് ക്യാപ്ടന്‍മാരുമാണ് ഓരോ ടീമിനെയും നയിക്കുന്നത്.
കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം പ്രശസ്ത നടനും സംവിധായകനുമായ മധുപാല്‍ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്ത കേരളോത്സവത്തിലെ വേദികള്‍ മത്സരത്തിനായി ഉണര്‍ന്നത് ഞായറാഴ്ചയായിരുന്നു.
ശനിയാഴ്ച വേദി രണ്ടിലും മൂന്നിലുമായി രാത്രി ഏഴിന് പെന്‍സില്‍ ഡ്രോയിംഗും (ആണ്‍, പെണ്‍), എട്ടരക്ക് ക്ലേ മോഡലിംഗും നടക്കും.
മത്സര ഫലങ്ങള്‍ ഒന്ന് രണ്ട് സ്ഥാനക്രമത്തില്‍, ബ്രാക്കറ്റില്‍ ടീം. മോണോ ആക്ട് (പെണ്‍): ബിജി ശിവകുമാര്‍ (നിള), ശ്രീക്കുട്ടി രമേശ് (നിള), ഗീത ജനാര്‍ദ്ദനന്‍ (കാവേരി).

Top official to deliver Christmas message

The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) will organise Christmas and New Year celebrations at its premises on Friday. Senior bureaucrat from Government of India Jiji Thomson will be the chief guest. Mr. Thomson will deliver the Christmas message.As part of the celebrations, different Choirs will present Christmas carols. There will be competitions in various events like Christmas Tree, Christmas Star and Baking the Christmas cake.A special session of Christmas Tree function will be organised for the members’ children. Audiences’ reactions are not predictable. In no way we can imagine, how they will react to any movie,” said creative writer and versatile theatre and cine artist, Madhupal.He is in Bahrain to participate in the inauguration of the Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam’s Keralotsavam 2010-11, which took place on Saturday. Keralotsavam is a socio-cultural and literary competition for its members and associate members. An interactive session will be organised at the BKS premises for all cinema and theatre lovers. It is scheduled to start at 8pm tonight.“The audiences are not always willing to accept ideas and films that are out of convention, they demand commercial cinema. Their taste is unpredictable. Why else did Kutty Srank, which is one of Mammootty’s best works failed at the box office?”He also pointed out that producers are not always ready to promote good films and instead concentrate only on the profit. “Producers have turned into mere businessmen, who look at cinema only as a means of minting money. So, directors are forced to give up their creative talents and ideas. They do not have the freedom to realise their ideas into the movie.”Mr Madhupal believes that Adoor Gopalakrishnan is one of the few directors who have been able to succeed, as he himself is the producer of his movies.“Recently, director Renjith has also started producing his own movies. If he had taken the idea of his latest movie, Pranchiyettan and the Saint, people would have thought he was mad,” said Mr. Madhupal who has recently won recognitions for his directorial venture. He added that the need of the hour is to get producers who understand and trust their directors. “We have immense talents in our industry, but their calibre and potential have not yet been utilised fully.”He opined that it is wrong to say that Anwar and Cocktail have been copied from Traitor and Butterfly on a Wheel. “There are similar situations and ideas that have been adopted in the new movies. It should not be considered copying.”He feels that this also helps bring cinema of foreign languages to the local scene and adapting it to match theirs tastes and sensibilities will also help highlight an issue.“Cinema is not an independent art, it is the collaboration of various art forms, which come together to create something new and valuable,” said Mr. Madhupal

മധുപാലുമായി മുഖാമുഖം ഇന്ന്

ബഹ്‌റൈന്‍ കേരളീയ സമാജം സാഹിത്യവേദിയുടെയും സിനിമാ ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെയും സംയുക്ത ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തില്‍ ഇന്ന്് രാത്രി എട്ട് മണിക്ക് പ്രശസ്ത നടനും സംവിധായകനും സാഹിത്യകാരനുമായ മധുപാലുമായി മുഖാമുഖം സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. സമാജം എം.എ രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍ ഹാളിലാണ് പരിപാടി.

Envoy launches Keralotsavam

The Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam (BKS) inaugurated BKS- Melam Keralotsavam 2010-11 and Spectra Calendar 2011 at their premises last night. More than 2,000 guests attended.Chief guest was Indian Ambassador Mohan Kumar who inaugurated the event by hoisting the festival flag and lighting the traditional lamp. The celebrity guest was creative writer and versatile theatre and cine-artist, Madhupal. Mohammed Fakhro and Bros. General Manager Unni Nair was the guests of honour.ICRF Chairman John Iype handed over the first copy of the Spectra Calendar 2011 to Mr Kumar and the first copy of the table calendar was handed over to BKS President PV Radhakrishna Pillai by ICRF Vice Chairman and Spectra Coordinator Mathew Joseph.Keralotsavam is a socio-cultural and literary competition for BKS members and associate members.Under the patronage of the Indian Embassy and in association with BKS, , the ICRF organised an art competition for all the students of Bahrain and the winning entries have been featured in the Spectra Calendar. All proceeds from the calendar will be transferred to the ICRF, to be used for the benefit of the Indian community, especially the low-income group.Mr Kumar congratulated Mr Pillai for reviving Keralotsavam after a gap of five years. He added that such festivals would help the participants to develop a well-rounded personality . He also lauded the ICRF team for its efforts in implementing various schemes like the group insurance policy for the betterment of the Indians in Bahrain.
